“The Radical Left has taken up a senseless crusade against our brave men and women in law enforcement, and Democrats’ inflammatory rhetoric has fueled an alarming rise in violence that not only endangers our communities but also harms the very people sworn to keep them safe,” said Sen. Cornyn. “This legislation would increase penalties for any offender who violently assaults a law enforcement officer, including by using a car or truck as a weapon, and sends a clear message that attacks on those who protect and serve will not be tolerated.”
“Law enforcement officers put themselves at risk every day to protect our communities, and they deserve to go home safely at the end of every shift. The surge in violence against ICE agents is unacceptable, and Congress has a duty to respond. If you assault an officer with a weapon or try to run them down with a car, you will face justice,” said Sen. Lankford.
“These immigration and customs enforcement officers are red-blooded American patriots doing a tough job to keep our nation safe. Our men and women in law enforcement put their lives on the line every single day so we can make it home to our families. They should be supported, not attacked,” said Sen. Mullin. “Those who harm our ICE agents will face the full force and wrath of the American justice system with these increase in penalties. Back the blue.”
“ICE and our other law enforcement officers courageously put their life on the line each time they put on the uniform,” said Sen. Hagerty. “They must be protected from emerging threats as they work to keep our communities safe. The mandatory minimums in this legislation will deter the concerning increase in the use of vehicles to injure our law enforcement officers, so I’m pleased to support it.”
“Federal law enforcement is under attack, and there is no greater example than the recent attacks on ICE agents by radical left-wing open border activists. If you try to attack federal law enforcement, let it be known that the punishment will be swift,” said Sen. Graham. “I am proud to stand with my colleagues in pushing to increase the penalties for these types of brazen attacks.”
“I am proud to join Senator Cornyn as he leads efforts to protect ICE agents and law enforcement who have faced an alarming surge in violent attacks while carrying out their duties,” said Sen. Lummis. “This bill sends a strong message that we are firmly committed to protecting those who serve on the front lines by holding accountable bad actors who would do them harm.”
“Law enforcement officers should be respected, not vilified. I’m glad to work with Senator Cornyn to protect our brave ICE agents, who put their lives on the line to protect our communities and uphold the rule of law,” said Sen. Daines.
Sen. John Cornyn, Sen. Steve Daines, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Sen. Bill Hagerty, Sen. James Lankford, Sen. Cynthia Lummis, Sen. Markwayne Mullin“Zero mercy should be shown to illegal aliens who not only defy our laws by unlawfully entering the country but also take it a step further to drive drunk, threatening American lives,” said Sen. Cornyn. “By strengthening current immigration law to hold these offenders accountable, our bill sends a clear message: If you enter the country illegally and harm innocent citizens, we will find you, we will punish you, and we will make sure you never step foot on American soil again.”
“We can’t have a fair, orderly, and humane immigration system without clear rules that prevent dangerous criminals from remaining in our country. Drunk driving that results in severe injury or death is a serious and dangerous crime. Individuals who put lives at risk and endanger our communities should be held accountable,” said Sen. Gallego.
“This legislation closes a legal loophole that has prevented and would continue to prevent law enforcement from protecting Americans,” said Sen. Cruz. “It will directly contribute to making our communities safer, and I urge my colleagues to advance it without delay.”
“Driving under the influence of intoxicating substances can have serious life or death consequences, and any illegal alien who chooses to get behind the wheel in such a state should not remain in our country. I am proud to stand with Senator Cornyn and my colleagues to ensure that illegal aliens who commit such crimes are deported from and inadmissible to the U.S.,” said Sen. Budd.
“Illegal immigrants who drink and drive put innocent American lives at risk and should face serious consequences, including deportation,” said Sen. Tillis. “This legislation strengthens our laws to close dangerous loopholes and ensure those who commit serious criminal offenses are swiftly removed from our country.”
“The Trump administration is sending a clear signal to all criminal illegal aliens: you are not welcome in the United States,” said Sen. Lummis. “Too many American lives have been taken because illegal immigrants who should never have been in our country were driving under the influence on our roads. I am proud to support Senator John Cornyn’s legislation that puts public safety first, ends the cycle of excuses for criminal behavior, and ensures that illegal immigrants convicted of DUI are removed.”
“It’s bad enough to commit a crime by crossing our border illegally—but it’s beyond inexcusable for illegal immigrants to put innocent people in harm’s way by driving under the influence. We’ve seen far too many American lives cut short by drunk drivers who shouldn’t even be in our country, and we ought to use every tool in our arsenal to make sure these tragedies never happen again. The Stop Illegal Aliens Drunk Driving Act will ensure illegal immigrants who hurt or kill people by driving under the influence are met with the full force of the law, and I’m proud to help introduce it,” said Sen. Kennedy.
“Driving under the influence and entering the United States illegally are both crimes that pose serious danger to the lives and livelihoods of American citizens. Any illegal who is caught driving drunk is doing both and should be immediately deported and never allowed to re-enter the United States. Our immigration and transportation laws must be enforced,” said Sen. Schmitt.
“People who are not legally present in this country should be removed, especially if they have been convicted of driving under the influence. Federal law should be clear that no illegal alien should ever have a second DUI conviction,” said Sen. Lankford.
“This common-sense measure is long overdue. Too many lives have been lost to reckless, drunk and impaired drivers. We certainly shouldn’t add to that tragic number by allowing illegal aliens to have a pass for endangering drivers on American roads,” said Sen. Mullin. “Illegal aliens convicted of driving drunk and harming our citizens have no place in this country. In fact, these criminals should move to the very FRONT of the deportation line and be on the first flight home. Full stop.”

Thom Tillis“Chronic labor shortages—faced by seasonal U.S. employers throughout the nation’s history—have been exacerbated by the post-pandemic evolution of the American workforce,” wrote the senators. “As this need grows, so does the pressure on U.S. workers, whose employers’ workforce needs cannot be met with American workers alone. The H-2B program places requirements on employers to recruit U.S. workers, who are intentionally prioritized by the program and receive demonstrated, positive impacts from their seasonal colleagues.”
“An efficient analysis, issuance of a rule, and release of these visas allows the supplemental tranche of H-2B visas to meet the seasonal market demand during the market cycles when they are most needed,” continued the senators. “We thank you for your continued support—in recognizing the vital benefit to the economy of these seasonal, temporary work visas—and we are hopeful the maximum allowable FY26 supplemental visas will promptly be released pursuant to Congressional authority and in the same manner as in the three previous years.”

Raphael Warnock, Sen. Peter Welch, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Sen. Ron Wyden“Biden’s open border cost Kayla Hamilton her life. Thankfully, President Trump secured our border and rolled back disastrous Democrat policies that put our children and communities in harm’s way,” said Sen. Cassidy. “This legislation ensures future Democrat administrations cannot neglect needed background checks and release dangerous criminals into the country.”
“For more than four years, the Biden administration’s disastrous, open-door policies allowed criminals and violent gangs like MS-13 to flood into our country and put Americans at risk,” said Sen. Lummis. “The tragic murder of Kayla Hamilton was preventable and is a devastating consequence of Democrats’ willful neglect of the border and failure to properly vet unaccompanied minors. I am proud to join Senator Cornyn and my colleagues in cosponsoring the Kayla Hamilton Act, which will allow us to remove those dangerous loopholes and prevent illegal killers from infiltrating our communities.”
“Crimes that are committed by illegal aliens who shouldn’t be here in the first place are 100% preventable,” said Sen. Tuberville. “Kayla Hamilton’s story is yet another tragic example of the Biden administration prioritizing illegal aliens over the safety of American citizens. Our bill is a crucial step in the right direction to ensure crimes like this never happen again.”
Sen. Bill Cassidy, Sen. Cynthia Lummis, Sen. Tommy Tuberville“Biden’s open-border chaos is destroying America’s crown jewels,” said Chairman Lee. “Families who want to enjoy a safe hike or campout are instead finding trash piles, burned landscapes, and trails closed because rangers are stuck cleaning up the fallout. Cartels are exploiting the disorder, using these lands as cover for their operations. This bill gives land managers and border agents the tools to restore order and protect these places for the people they were meant to serve.”
“The Biden Border crisis left our southern federal lands in chaos and covered in trash,” said Senator Barrasso. “Senator Lee’s legislation will give the Department of Homeland Security the authority to better protect our national parks, forests and wildlife refuges. It will also give Border Control agents the tools they need to crack down on drug cartels who continue to exploit our federal lands.”
“America’s federal public lands have suffered destruction at the hands of cartels who were emboldened by the Biden administration’s open-border policies,” said Senator Blackburn. “The Border Lands Conservation Act would give land managers and border agents the tools to restore order and stop the cartels from exploiting public land.”
“The unchecked surge in illegal border crossings during the Biden years damaged sensitive public lands and private property,” said Senator Hyde-Smith. “I’ve seen the accumulated trash and waste that is diminishing access to public lands, parks, and forests, and left us with public safety risks and threats to the natural heritage that belongs to all Americans. We cannot ignore the price to be paid by years of reckless open border policies, which is why I welcome Chairman Lee’s legislation to give us the necessary tools to set things right.”
“The Biden administration’s open border policies turned our public lands into cartel corridors and dumping grounds,” said Senator Lummis. “This bill arms our rangers and border agents with the authority they need to shut down these cartel routes and reclaim our national treasures from the criminals who’ve seized control of them.”
Today, Senator Rick Scott joined Senator Bill Hagerty and colleagues in the Senate to introduce the Equal Representation Act to prohibit non-U.S. citizens from being counted in the electoral college and Congressional district apportionment by requiring the Census Bureau to include a citizenship question on all future censuses. Senators Tim Sheehy, John Hoeven, Mike Lee, and James Lankford also cosponsored this legislation.

Sen. Cynthia LummisU.S. Senators Jim Risch (R-Idaho) and John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) introduced legislation requiring unused COVID-19 funds to be used to finish building the wall along the southern border.
“The Biden administration foolishly halted the progress on the border wall begun under President Trump, leaving states and local communities to deal with the resulting crisis. A completed border wall would have prevented the disastrous flood of illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and criminal activity every state has experienced over the last four years,” said Risch. “The Build the Wall Act is a commonsense approach to securing our southern border, restoring order to our immigration system, and enhancing our national security.”
“Before the Biden administration’s disastrous border policies, we were well on our way to a secure and safe southern border. Now, every state is a border state and dangerous criminals and cartels are entering our communities,” said Barrasso. “This bill will allow us to use money we already have to finish the wall and protect our national security. Border walls work. Securing the border is a top priority for Senate Republicans and President Trump.”
