Stop Excessive Force in Immigration Act of 2025

This bill:

  • Limits use of force to when it is the only feasible option to bring a situation under control;
  • Requires use of de-escalation before use of force;
  • Bars use of masks except in limited circumstances with written approval from supervisor;
  • Bans law enforcement use of noise flash diversionary devices (also known as flash bangs), rubber bullets, pepper balls, and tear gas except in limited circumstances;
  • Requires body cameras for immigration law enforcement; and
  • Requires immigration enforcement officials to inform State and local authorities before missions in their jurisdiction.
