Border Safety and Security Act
This bill-
- Establishes a new, discretionary authority for the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security to deny entry to aliens at borders in order to achieve operational control of the border;
- Mandates the suspension of entry of aliens when the Secretary is unable to detain or place all arriving inadmissible aliens in detention or have them remain in a contiguous country while they await their immigration proceedings; and
- Gives State Attorneys General standing to sue if the Executive Branch isn't carrying out the mandatory suspension provision in accordance with the law.
