We have seen almost daily news over the past couple of months about the Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecuting noncitizens—both illegal aliens and legal immigrants—for unlawfully voting in American elections. At the same time, DOJ and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have been obtaining state voter rolls and verifying the citizenship status of registered voters. The results of this verification process have been shocking.
In California alone, DHS found 190,000 potential noncitizen voters and notified the California Secretary of State of its findings. These findings were based on a comparison of the state’s voter rolls with DHS’ records on noncitizens in the United States, which are contained in the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database. (The SAVE system contains data on all lawful permanent residents, temporary nonimmigrant visitors, and illegal aliens who have been encountered by the Border Patrol or Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). It does not contain information about illegal alien got-aways, or those who have never been apprehended by the Border Patrol or ICE.)
Once a potential noncitizen voter registrant, DHS performs a manual verification to confirm whether the individual is actually a noncitizen. This manual verification is lengthy and still ongoing on the California voter rolls. As of today, however, our sources at DHS have confirmed that at least 20,000 of the 190,000 registered voters in California are, in fact, noncitizens who are illegally registered to vote. These 20,000 individuals have been referred to Homeland Security Investigations (part of ICE).
This is a stunning number, considering how often we are assured by the left that noncitizen voting is exceedingly rare. And this is just one state!
This is exactly why the Immigration Accountability Project has devoted so much time and effort to getting Congress to pass the SAVE America Act to require proof of citizenship for registration and photo ID to vote. Since the Senate has failed to pass this bill, we can say with certainty that some number of noncitizens will be voting illegally in the midterm elections.
2030 Census upgrade?
The Commerce Department’s Bureau of the Census has proposed two new regulations governing the decennial census. The first would require that only U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents be included in the count for congressional district apportionment. The Census Bureau has routinely excluded temporary nonimmigrant visitors from the decennial census, but it has included illegal aliens in the apportionment count.
The second regulation would eliminate questions about race, ethnicity, and gender from decennial census questionnaires, both because fewer questions tend to increase the response rate, and because these data are more likely to lead to privacy concerns. Moreover, these data are irrelevant to apportionment, the statutory purpose of the decennial census. These data would still be collected and available in the American Community Survey and other surveys conducted by the Census Bureau.
The Immigration Accountability Project supports these proposed regulations. However, we would go further and suggest that apportionment be based on the number of U.S. citizens only. Only U.S. citizens are legally entitled to vote for congressional Representatives, so it makes more sense to base apportionment on this number.
The Census Bureau is seeking comments on these proposed regulations by November 2. We encourage you to make your voice heard by commenting here.

This Daily Wire report argues that the investigation and potential denaturalization of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is not unprecedented, drawing a direct parallel to the deportation of former Nazi camp guards who fraudulently obtained U.S. entry and refugee protections by concealing their roles as persecutors rather than victims.
