The Immigration Accountability Project is joining the Only Citizens Vote Bus Tour starting next week! The three-week tour begins in California and ends in Washington D.C., with 19 events along the way. The tour's purpose is to rally support for and demand that Congress pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.
The SAVE Act, introduced by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) in the House and Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) in the Senate, would safeguard federal elections by requiring proof of citizenship when registering to vote. The House version, H.R. 22, was passed by the House of Representatives with bipartisan support back in April. The Senate has yet to act.
I'll be joining the tour next week with stops in Garden Grove (CA), Las Vegas (NV), Scottsdale (AZ), Tucson (AZ), Las Cruces (NM), and San Antonio (TX). If you live near any of these cities and would like to attend the event, or would like to see future events, you can visit OnlyCitizensVoteTour.com for more details.

Overall Foreign-Born Population Down 2.2 Million January to July
Our friends at the Center for Immigration Studies broke big news this week with a report that suggests the foreign-born population could be down by as much as 2.2 million, including an estimated 1.6 million illegal aliens, since January. While the study notes some caveats, this is a promising sign that the Trump Administration’s enforcement efforts are having the desired effect as illegal aliens leave the labor force.
AG Bondi strips power from DC police chief, rescinds sanctuary city protections in crime crackdown operation
Much of the media attention this week has been on the Trump Administration’s efforts to crack down on rampant crime here in Washington, D.C. Our nation’s capital is a notorious sanctuary jurisdiction, and it didn’t take long for the D.C. Police Chief to issue a partial change to their sanctuary policy on Thursday, allowing officers to share information with ICE while simultaneously prohibiting them from making inquiries through databases about immigration status and restricting their ability to arrest based on detainers or immigration warrants. Only hours later, Attorney General Pam Bondi rescinded that policy as well as two previous sanctuary policies.
Signing of a Safe Third Country Agreement with Paraguay
This week, the State Department, under Secretary Rubio, has taken another helpful step to keep a future border crisis at bay. Yesterday, the Secretary signed a safe third country agreement with Paraguay. This agreement means that asylum seekers attempting to exploit our asylum system can be required to make their claims in Paraguay if they pass through its borders. We had similar agreements with Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador before the Biden Administration cancelled them in early 2021.
Deep Dive: Policy Brief: The Census Bureau Is Defrauding American Voters
Last week, we wrote about President Trump’s efforts to fix the census count. If you want to read more about what went wrong with the 2020 census and what can be done to fix it, our friends at the Center for Renewing America wrote an excellent brief on the subject.
