"In response to growing threats from violent cartels, terrorist networks, and lawless sanctuary cities, Congresswoman Sheri Biggs (R-SC-03) has introduced two national security bills to stop the flow of fentanyl, restore immigration enforcement, and protect American communities. The legislation comes on the heels of weekend unrest in Los Angeles, where ICE enforcement actions led to violent protests and public disorder. As a self-declared sanctuary city, Los Angeles has refused to cooperate with federal immigration authorities — endangering public safety and undermining U.S. law."
Rep. Sheri Biggs, Rep. Brandon Gill"Democrats made our elections less secure when they opened our borders to a flood of illegal immigrants. To ensure the millions of illegal aliens allowed into the country didn’t influence our elections, Texas requested citizenship data from USCIS that is necessary for determining voter eligibility,” said Rep. Van Duyne. “USCIS failed to respond, creating gaps in voter verification, leaving Texas without the information needed to ensure only eligible ballots were cast. The Voter Eligibility Verification Act will require timely responses from USCIS, giving states the tools to protect election integrity and ensure a secure voting process."
