Reuniting Families Act

This bill:

  • Proposes to "recapture" any "unused" family and employment visas from 1992-2025.
  • Sets a 10-year time limit for approving immigrant visa applications.
  • Eliminates age-out provisions for children of immigrants applying for LPR status as derivatives.
  • Expands the annually allocated number of visas for unmarried children of citizens from 23,400 to 127,200.
  • Expands the annually allocated number of visas for married children of immigrants from 23,400 to 80,640.
  • Expands the annually allocated number of visas for siblings of citizens from 65,000 to 191,520.
  • Expands the per-country limit from 7 percent per foreign state to 20 percent. 
  • Repeals the 3 and 10 year bars.
  • Authorizes derivatives of E, H, L, and O visas for employment. 
  • Expands cancellation of removal eligibility and places no numerical limitation on the number of cancellations the government can issue annually. 
  • Expands the annual numerical cap for the Diversity Visa Lottery from 55,000 to 80,000.
