The Citizenship Verification Emergency Healthcare Act
This bill requires hospitals to inquire about an admitted patient's citizenship or immigration status. Futher, they are required to report on the uncompensated care provided to noncitizens and those without lawful status, and the total funds received under the State plan or under a waiver plan for providing medical assistance to deliver a child to noncitizen parents lawfully residing in the U.S. and provide emergency delivery of a child to parents unlawfully in the U.S.
The bill restricts federal funds from those who do not comply.
