Illegal Immigration Cost Recovery Act

This bill increases the fines and penalties for immigration related offenses:

• Employers hiring unauthorized aliens (1st offense): Increased from $250–$2,000 to $1,432–$11,448 per worker;
• Employers hiring unauthorized aliens (2nd offense): Increased from $2,000–$5,000 to $11,448–$28,616 per worker;
• Employers hiring unauthorized aliens (subsequent offenses): Increased from $3,000–$10,000 to $17,172–$57,238 per worker;
• Failure/refusal to depart under a final order of removal: Increased from $500 to $1,996 per day; and
• Improper entry or attempted improper entry by an illegal alien: Increased from $50–$250 to $200–$1,000.
