The Citizenship Documented License (CDL) Act

This bill requires all new state-issued driver's licenses and identification cards to display a visible indicator of the holder's U.S. citizenship status to be acceptable for federal recognition. Furthermore, it prohibits federal agencies from recognizing commercial driver's licenses (CDLs) for any official purpose unless the issuing state has verified the holder is a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or authorized nonimmigrant under an E-2, H-2A, or H-2B visa.
