Citizenship Verification in Emergency Healthcare Act

This bill requires hospitals to ask individuals about citizenship or immigration status upon admission and registration. The information gathered can't be used to affect patient care or result in reporting the individual's immigration status to immigration authorities (with an exception for reporting criminal activity).

Further, hospitals are required to report annually on the uncompensated medical care furnished to legal and illegal aliens, and the amount of funds received to provide medical assistance for the delivery of children of legal and illegal aliens.

Hospitals that do not comply are limited from receiving Federal funds.
