Justice for Jocelyn Act

This bill codifies and limits the use of "alternatives to detention" (release) to situations where-

  • All detention beds are filled;
  • There is no available option to hold an alien in detention; and
  • The Secretary has exhausted all reasonable efforts to hold such alien.

Also, the bill requires GPS monitoring of all aliens on the nondetained docket, and requires removal in abstentia for aliens who fail to comply with their release orders.
