Fulfilling Promises to Afghan Allies Act

This bill:

  • Provides conditional permanent resident status to certain Afghans in the United States and provides a path to adjust status to legal permanent resident status.
  • Grants eligibility for public benefits and exempts the aliens from all numerical limitations for adjustment.
  • Makes certain Afghan relatives of Afghan Army personnel eligible for special immigrant visas with a 2,500 annual numerical cap.
  • Designates Afghan aliens as refugees of special humanitarian concern and waives the third country requirement, and allows remote refugee processing within Afghanistan.
