Freedom to Cooperate Act

This bill strengthens immigration law to prohibit State and local jurisdictions from restricting compliance with immigration law, making inquiries about an individual's immigration status (including inadmissibility and deportability), notifying Federal officials regarding such alien's presence, and complying with requests for information.

The bill also helps strengthen detainer authority by deeming probable cause if certain requirements are met, clarifying that States and localities may hold aliens for up to 48 hours (excluding weekends), and giving State and local officials immunity for complying with detainers.
