Domestic Jobs Protection Act

This bill plugs a loophole in the law that has allowed the Executive Branch to create guestworker programs without authorization from Congress. 

Categories of aliens granted discretionary employment authorization who would lose access to employment authorization under Rep. Gill’s bill:
● Parolees
● Extended Voluntary Departure
● Deferred Enforced Departure (DED)
● Aliens with a final order of removal
● Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
● Optional Practical Training (OPT)
● Applicants for adjustment of status (if their underlying status isn’t work
authorized)
● H-4–spouses/minor children of H visa holders
