ERIC ADAMS Act of 2025

This bill holds the mayor of a sanctuary city liable for criminal negligence if an illegal alien commits murder within their jurisdiction, and if the city's policies contributed to the failure to detain or remove the illegal alien before the murder occurred. The definition of a "sanctuary city" includes not cooperating or sharing information with federal immigration authorities and not complying with detainers.
