HELD Act

This bill combats sanctuary city policies that shield illegal aliens, including criminal aliens, from federal immigration enforcement. It would:

  • Identify and penalize states or localities that refuse to honor ICE detainers, refuse to notify ICE of the release of deportable aliens, or otherwise obstruct federal officers.
  • Cut off federal funds to these jurisdictions.
