SSA Reform Act of 2025

This bill requires DHS to notify the Social Security Administration (SSA) of changes to citizenship status, immigration status, and work authorization within 180 days of any change. Further, the bill disallows the following benefits for any month where an individual was not a citizen or national:

  • Old-age, survivors, or disability insurance benefits;
  • Medicare;
  • A State plan under Title XIX of the Social Security Act;
  • A State child health plan;
  • Supplemental social security income benefits;
  • Assistance under a State program funded under part A of title IV of the Social Security Act; or
  • Any other benefit under the SSA.
