American Citizenship Integrity Act

This bill:

  • Makes it a federal crime to recruit, transport, or harbor aliens for birth tourism, punishable by up to 15 years in prison for individuals and up to 30 years for organized criminal rings;

  • Makes aliens who travel or attempt to travel to the United States for birth tourism inadmissible (but not deportable);

  • Strips U.S. citizenship from naturalized citizens convicted of participating in birth tourism fraud;

  • Creates a federal interagency task force to investigate birth tourism rings and report annually on births to alien parents; and

  • Requires every U.S. Attorney’s Office to assign a dedicated prosecutor to handle birth tourism and citizenship fraud cases.
