Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to clarify the 14th amendment does not provide for automatic citizenship for the children of aliens.
This joint resolution proposes an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to clarify that 'subject to the jurisdiction' applies to children with at least one parent who is a citizen, U.S. national, or lawful permanent resident residing in the United States.
