This bill authorizes the creation of a “Border Security and Enforcement Block Grant Program," which provides "grants to eligible States to construct, maintain, repair, or improve, a physical border barrier system along the southwest border of the United States." The bill transfers unobligated funds to the new program and authorizes more for future fiscal years, Importantly, it requires the federal government to grant states access to federal lands. The program sunsets at the end of FY2027.
